Our
voting machines were used illegally in the June 6 Primary and Special
Election in the Busby/Bilbray race after SLEEPOVERS in the Registrar of Voters volunteers’ homes,
garages and cars. This took
place throughout
San Diego
County
, including in the bellwether House Race in our CA 50 between Francine Busby and Brian Bilbray. Who
won? “It’s
UNKNOWABLE!”

Tomorrow,
Tues. July 18, we must make sure the
County
Board
of Supervisors knows what we think
about it. Jess Durfee, Chair
of the San Diego County Democratic Party Central Committee will
request time to address the Board at 9:00 am, and he will address
the
press at 10:30.
He
will demand public hearings and contact with the voters of
San Diego
and that the Board hold their
employee, Mikel Haas, Registrar of Voters, accountable for his misdeeds
which rise to the level of
criminal activity. Jess has
asked
San Diego
County
voters to come to the Board Meeting and support
him publicly.
A
new organization—The CA 50 Action Committee has
been formed to right this terrible
wrong, using all available legal remedies, and to fight this issue here
where the first 2006 Federal
Election for the House of Representatives has taken place under illegal
circumstances.
The
CA 50 Action Committee has drawn a line in the sand here in
San Diego

Members of the CA 50 Action Committee will be at the Board Meeting.
Barbara Gail Jacobson, the intrepid voter who requested a hand count of the votes in CA 50 will
speak to the Board (if allowed).
Jim and Shar Hamilton will deliver 800
signatures on a petition to the Board to stop sleepovers and get rid of these hackable machines.
Judy Hess, Coordinator of CA 50, will show the Board (if allowed) photos
of voting machines being wheeled in to their polling place at 11:17 am on June 6.
Those machines not only slept over, but also GOT LOST en route to the polls!
The voters of that precinct (predominantly Republican) could not
use their machines until just after noon.
Is this what their taxpayer dollars paid for?
Please
stand in solidarity with us tomorrow,
so we can have transparent
elections all over this country. Only
then, can we elect leaders who will end
these wars, help our Veterans, hold the Administration accountable,
fight
global warming, enact fair and appropriate Immigration Laws, fight
for
justice for labor, and help us get a single payer health care plan.
